It was really really nice, meow. Except there's not as much sun there as here.

Sometimes. But there was a little hill where the sun was still there, so we made that our napping spot.

How come you didn't see the sun before?

Well, um... it's a little complicated. We didn't really have a sun where I came from. All of our weather and daylight came from something else.

Well... everything back home came from what we call the fal'Cie. They're... I guess they're a little like the Malnosso here. The one that controlled the daylight was named Phoenix. It was kind of like our own Sun.

Oh, wait. Do you mean "experiments"? They... well, not really. They took care of us and gave us everything we needed, but... we were still beneath them.

Some of them did. Like Phoenix. It was in the sky... or our version of the sky, anyway.

Well, they didn't live in the Sun. Phoenix was our Sun. And they're powerful enough to stay wherever they are.

Um... the place I come from was a safe place wrapped inside itself, and floated above the rest of the world underneath it. So I guess it's the same kind of thing.
