Cat Spirit 23! [Action]

[With ~spooky~ changes comes ~spooky~ behavior. Well, not really. This sort of hunting is par for the course with Tao.

All throughout today, there will be a catgirl here or there. There will be a catgirl anywhere, all over the village, trying to put her boundless energy to use. It's the thrill of the hunt! And her prey? ...Rats! And bats. And the occasional spider.

Because what better person/animal to take care of the rat problem than her? She's got to put those beastkin instincts to use sometime. Tao can be found zipping all over the village, taking off at full speed, running or on all fours, and chasing down rats in particular. Though if bats fly by your head, she'll go for them too. Spiders are fair game as well.

Point is, she's up and about trying to catch/hunt down these critters, and if you're in the way, better get out of it.]

Meow, meow, meow!? You get back heeeeeeeeeere!

[...Try not to get barreled into. Or trampled. Or crashed into. Or accidentally pounced upon.]

Getting hurt is a part of fighting, meow.

Getting hurt is terrible, and seeing your friends hurt is just as bad.

[Luke doesn't know it, but a boo is sneaking up behind him, giggling quietly.]

...That's true, meow.

[The latter part hits closer to home but...oh wait. Boo. Her ears and tail perk up at the sight of it.]

[Who knows what that Boo intends to do to him? It must not think Tao is looking at it - it's heading straight for Luke's head.]

So I wouldn't want to find out that anything happened to you, either.

[Oh no!!! She completely ignores Luke's words and tries to swipe at the Boo. Unfortunately, since it's a ghost and actually farther away from her than she had thought...

...she might end up hitting Luke on the head with her paw.]

[Whap.]

Ouch! [Tao hits hard. The Boo is shaking up and down in the air with the force of its laughter.] What was that for?

[RUDE, Boo.]

The ghost was gonna get your head!

[hisapprentice]

[Rubbing his sore head, Luke frowns.] Ghost? What ghost?

[When he turns to look, the Boo covers its face with its hands in a mockery of a shy blush, and goes invisible.]

There! It was right there!

[She gestures wildly at where the Boo used to be.]

[hisapprentice]

[Luke squints. He wants to believe Tao, he really does, but he can see everything just fine other than the mist.

This is largely because the Boo has moved, around behind them both this time, and is getting ready to surprise Taokaka instead.]

Where'd it go, meow?!

[Completely missing the Boo, she's mad now. Not only did it lead to...this, but it doesn't even own up to it!]

[hisapprentice]

[So it comes right up behind her and...

LAUGHS INTO HER EAR in that cruel ghostly giggle.]

[gjhskjhfs GODDAMMIT

Her sharp hearing is not something working in her favor, this time. She jumps up a few feet with a yelp.]

Meow!

[hisapprentice]

Whoa-! [That really is a ghost! And it scared Taokaka and now Luke is marching up to it while quivering like a thin tree in winter.]

Y-You stop doing that, you ghost! Leave my friend alone!

[catus_carnival]

[She'll dramatically point at it with a paw. Poor Luke...]

What he said! You leave him alone too!

[hisapprentice]

[Since they're both staring at it, the Boo has vanished again. Luke doesn't like the look of that.]

Let's go somewhere else, Tao.

[catus_carnival]

[She hmphs a bit at the Boo.]

That's a good idea, meow. No more stupid ghosts...

[hisapprentice]

I don't think we can completely get away but we can stay clear of this one, right?

[catus_carnival]

Right! Tao will try to chase away others that come!

[Even if she's a bit scared, she can see that Luke is twice as much so when ghosts are around.]

[hisapprentice]

Just try not to hurt anybody else in the process, please.

What about hurting the ghosts?

Does that work? Don't people just go straight through them?

Maybe we can scare them off!
