Cat Spirit 23! [Action]
[With ~spooky~ changes comes ~spooky~ behavior. Well, not really. This sort of hunting is par for the course with Tao.
All throughout today, there will be a catgirl here or there. There will be a catgirl anywhere, all over the village, trying to put her boundless energy to use. It's the thrill of the hunt! And her prey? ...Rats! And bats. And the occasional spider.
Because what better person/animal to take care of the rat problem than her? She's got to put those beastkin instincts to use sometime. Tao can be found zipping all over the village, taking off at full speed, running or on all fours, and chasing down rats in particular. Though if bats fly by your head, she'll go for them too. Spiders are fair game as well.
Point is, she's up and about trying to catch/hunt down these critters, and if you're in the way, better get out of it.]
Meow, meow, meow!? You get back heeeeeeeeeere!
[...Try not to get barreled into. Or trampled. Or crashed into. Or accidentally pounced upon.]

[...Yes, Crow is saying that reading is fun. Also he seems to have vaguely forgotten about this "friendship test" he was doing at the moment.]
[action]
But Tao's not good at reading either! Looking at a bunch of pages all day isn't very fun, meow.
[action]
[action]
[Though she wouldn't mind trying...before giving up and having to ask Crow what this or that word meant every few seconds.]
[action]
[action]
Tao will try it. But if it's too hard for meow, then I told you so!
[action]
Fine--at least trying is better than nothing. And it won't be too hard. I just have to go get it first.
[Should we make you wait here or would Tao end up following anyway...]
[action]
Okay! I'll come with you!
[action]
[Because there he goes, dashing off across the roof to the next one back towards the house!]
[action]
[Oh ho! Keep up, she does, given how she's darting around on all fours too! Chasing Crow is a lot better than chasing stupid spiders or bats any day...]
[action]
...This may or may not have just turned into a race to see who can get back to the house first.]
[action]
[action]
Heh, you're actually really fast! I don't think I've had anyone actually be able to keep up with me like that before!
[action]
[She's a tiny bit out of breath, but she barely takes any time at all to catch it.]
[action]
It should be over here, I think. [Yayyy going over towards Seto's room. Best friend we're gonna be taking our book back that you borrowed from us for a moment, and once he does find it and get his hands on it, he turns it around for Tao to see. It's...a very thin book: an old children's picture book, titled "Pirate Isle"] This is the book I was talking about!
[action]
Pi...Pirate...Isle. Pirate Isle!
[action]
[In our humble opinion, of course. He opens it up to the first pages for Tao to see--it's a picture book, only about a few easy to read sentences worth of text on each page accompanied with colorful art, as it tells about an ordinary boy living an ordinary life. But then one day, he met a strange boy with a slightly mean attitude towards people, who claimed to be a pirate!]
[action]
[Fortunately, the sentences are simple enough for her not to misunderstand!]
[action]
[As the story progresses, the pirate and the boy end up getting caught up in an adventure of sorts, of looking for treasure on an island and fighting off other pirates and basically what you'd expect for a children's book telling a story about pirates. Tao may or may not notice though that the way the pirate kid acts is very similar to Crow's usual attitude...]
[action]
Meow...something's a little fishy, and it's not just Tao.
[action]
[action]
[action]
[Well Crow knows why that is--back when he had no idea about who he was, he had decided to incorporate pieces of this pirate's personality into his own, something that was more exciting than...well, the way things were before.
The story draws to a close with the two boy's adventure coming to an end once everything has been settled, but now the pirate has to leave to go elsewhere...
"The whistle blew, signaling that it was time to say goodbye. I asked the boy pirate if we'd ever see each other again. At that, he answered, 'Yeah, of course we will. Friends always see each other again. And we're friends now.', and gave a smile."]
[action]
Tao doesn't know who you're talking about, but that story is really nice, meow.
[action]
See? I told ya that it was a good story to read!
