Cat Spirit 23! [Action]

[With ~spooky~ changes comes ~spooky~ behavior. Well, not really. This sort of hunting is par for the course with Tao.

All throughout today, there will be a catgirl here or there. There will be a catgirl anywhere, all over the village, trying to put her boundless energy to use. It's the thrill of the hunt! And her prey? ...Rats! And bats. And the occasional spider.

Because what better person/animal to take care of the rat problem than her? She's got to put those beastkin instincts to use sometime. Tao can be found zipping all over the village, taking off at full speed, running or on all fours, and chasing down rats in particular. Though if bats fly by your head, she'll go for them too. Spiders are fair game as well.

Point is, she's up and about trying to catch/hunt down these critters, and if you're in the way, better get out of it.]

Meow, meow, meow!? You get back heeeeeeeeeere!

[Was he full already...? Or is he physically unable to? The latter...is one of the most depressing things she can think of.]

[It's the latter, but he's not a fan of pointing it out.]

I ain't hungry. [Nor does he ever get hungry but we digress.]

[Clearly, that must be the reason. She visibly deflates. Food is always more fun when eating with friends.]

[He rolls his eyes at that, but doesn't bother correcting her.]

What food was that you ate earlier? The one that was wrapped in the foil. [Maybe you could just go get more of those or something...]

A rib, meow! Dee-licious!

[Oh no, her mouth is slightly watering at the thought of it...]

[Ugh no why is your mouth doing that] Geez, calm down the waterworks--anyway, couldn't you just go grab more of those if you're still hungry?

Yeah...

[She looks directly at him.]

...But food is more fun to eat with friends!

Is it? [what is there to look at is there something on our face] Guess you'll have to find one of your friends for that.

[........Crow is oblivious, we're sorry.]

...Huh? [he sort of gives her a look now like this is somehow news to him. ~~it probably is, actually.~~]

You're Blue Guy's friend, right? So you must be a good person. So you count as Tao's friend too!

...Oh. [That's actually kind of nice to hear. For the longest time, he had no friends until meeting Seto, and even then Seto was his only friend. The idea of having even more friends is something he hadn't thought about as much before. After a moment of thought, he seems to agree.]

Okay, I guess I can accept being your friend...but! [And here he holds up a finger, to interrupt before she can potentially say anything else about that.] I haven't decided yet if I can count you as my friend too. I gotta do a quick and short friendship test first before I can decide.

[Crow what the hell are you talking about now...]

A friendship test, meow? Uh-oh...Tao's not good at tests.

Don't worry; just this once, I'll try to make this an easy one for ya. First question:

[Holds up one finger as he says that. A long, dramatic pause for effect, and then...]

...Do you remember what my name is? [His actual name, not the nicknames you call him by.]

[She actually can remember names...it's just that she prefers not to use them.]

Good! [Holding up a second finger now.]

Second question: Do you like pirates? What's your opinion of them? Have you ever met any or read any books about them?

[...Technically that's like three questions right there but who cares, he certainly doesn't.]

[It's okay, she doesn't care either!]

I don't really know what a pirate is, but they sound awesome! And Tao doesn't remember meeting any pirates...Tao doesn't read a lot of books either. All those words are too hard for meow!

[And if she has met any, she's probably forgotten by now...]

Really? [sigh] Man, you're totally missing out--they sail the seven seas in search of treasure and have the best and most exciting adventures! You should be reading way more about them...

[...Yes, Crow is saying that reading is fun. Also he seems to have vaguely forgotten about this "friendship test" he was doing at the moment.]

[It's okay, Tao will forget soon too.]

But Tao's not good at reading either! Looking at a bunch of pages all day isn't very fun, meow.

Nuh-uh, it just means you haven't been reading any fun books before until now. In fact, I know the best books about pirates that are worth reading, and one of them should even be at the house right now. [The house they've been living at here, he means.]

Tao still isn't all too good at reading...that makes my head hurt.

[Though she wouldn't mind trying...before giving up and having to ask Crow what this or that word meant every few seconds.]

Really? [How does reading make one's head hurt...] ...Well the one I got is really easy to read, so that one should be fine to look at.
